Making Skin Perfect with Photoshop
Difficulty: Intermediate
In Short: You’ll select the area of the face you want to fix, duplicate the area, blur it, and mask out the detail of the face.

For this tutorial, I will display the change side by side. I will refer the left side as the original image and right side as the right image.

First, duplicate the right image, and change the new layer’s blending option to screen, at about 35%. This will help lighten up the image. Merge this new layer with the right image.

Use the Lasso Tool and select the area around the face. Hit Ctrl + J, to duplicate the selection.
Apply a Gaussian Blur effect, of about Radius 3. You should get something similar to the right.

Add a Vector Mask to this blurred layer. Your layers should be similar to the left image.

Select your Brush Tool, and press D, to reset default brush colors (black and white). Set your brush opacity to about 20%, and just brush away the detail of the face, such as eyes, nose, mouth, etc…

Continue to brush until you are satisfied with your image. Remember, if you have the default brush colors on, you can press X, to switch them so you can brush away or apply more blur onto the face.

Adding a few more effects and you can turn an ordinary image into a beautiful shot. Stay tuned for an advanced tutorial on photo retouching!
